The Governing Body
On the 1st April 2019, Bozeat Community Primary School (BCPS) became a founding member of a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) known as the Nene Valley Partnership (NVP). The Trust has its own Board of Trustees and they are ultimately accountable for the quality of education in all of the Trust’s three academies.
The Trust Board has delegated responsibility to the (BCPS) Local Governing Board for the day-to-day governance of the school; monitoring and evaluating the progress and attainment of its pupils; supporting and challenging the leadership of the School (to ensure high quality teaching and learning) and financial probity.
The Local Governing Board
The Local Governing Board is accountable to the Trust Board.
Members of the LGB shall be known as “governors”. The Trustees have the right to appoint such persons to the LGB as they shall determine from time to time.
The composition of the LGBs shall ordinarily be as follows:
The Head of the school (or the CEO if one and the same);
Up to  staff governors;
Up to  elected parent governors;
Up to  trustee appointed governors.
Co-opted governors as required
Co-opted Governors at Bozeat School are governors who usually represent community interests. Co-opted governors should include people with expertise and experience from all backgrounds and have local community, business and professional interests.
Parent Governors are chosen by either election or co-opted from the parents, including carers of pupils at the school. Elected parent governors are elected by other parents at the school. They do not have to stand down if their child leaves the school before the end of their term of office.
Staff Governors are both teaching and support staff paid to work at the school. The elected staff governors stand for election and are elected by the paid school staff.
The Head of School is automatically a member of the governing body.
The Governing Body must appoint annually in September a Chair and a Vice Chair. These roles cannot be held by the Headteacher.
