British Science Week 2024

In recognition of British Science Week and learning about ‘time’, Children worked in classes to construct various events in history. This involved creating toys through time, creating Viking ships, building the Parthenon from Ancient Greece, Mayan temples and Ancient Egyptian pyramids. The children also made some brilliant self portraits out of Lego. The children had a wonderful time building!

KS1 have completed some Science experiments around the theme of time. Year 1 experimented with Jelly to see if adding different fruit affects the time it takes to set. Year 2 experimented with materials to make their own tea bags. First they tested materials to see which material would let the tea dissolve. Then they tested the time it took for tea to dissolve through the metal, plastic and paper.

Bozeat Primary School Ofsted 2023

“A Small School with Big Opportunities”
Overall Effectiveness: Good
Early Years Provision: Outstanding

Bozeat Primary School Ofsted JAR 2793

Pupils and staff have been celebrating their Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating in Early Years and ‘Good’ in all other areas following an inspection at the start of the school year. This is the first inspection the school has received since becoming a founding member of the Nene Valley Partnership Multi Academy Trust.

The Inspectors noted that “Everyone is welcome at this highly inclusive school” and that “The youngest children get off to the best possible start”. Pupils were described as polite, courteous and conduct themselves well around the school. Pupils also described the school as ‘one big, happy community’ and that they enjoy the challenges that their teachers provide for them. One pupil said “ I don’t think there is one boring lesson”. Parents speak highly of the school and recognise the difference that recent changes have made. Typical comments fed back to the Inspecting team were that ‘every staff member goes above and beyond’

Gareth Rust, Head of School said “I am extremely proud that the inspection team recognised what we all knew: that Bozeat Community Primary School is a good school. Staff, Governors and the Trust have and continue to work tirelessly to implement positive changes to provide the best quality education, opportunities and experiences for our children. Ofsted is only one aspect of how we measure our success – our true measure remains our children. They are the heart of what we do. We endeavour to create caring, thoughtful and passionate pupils who are proud of themselves and the communities they live in and who leave us fully ready to embrace the next steps in their educational and life journey”.

James Birkett CEO of the Nene Valley Partnership said “Bozeat Primary School deserve the very highest accolades for such an exceptional Ofsted report. It is a warm and positive school community, where children, staff parents and Governors work together in harmony towards the highest possible standards. All of our schools share the mission to realise “Excellence in Education” and Bozeat is well on their way to achieving this aim, especially with an Outstanding judgement for the Early Years Provision. Whilst celebrating this success, we are also looking forward to even greater achievements in the future!”
